Multi-instrumentalist Dave Tozer moved to Philadelphia in the late 1990s from his home in South Jersey.

There, he honed his production skills at various studios around the city and began working as a freelance musician playing everything from Hip-Hop & Rock to R&B & Pop.  Through a mutual friend, Dave met John Legend with whom he began a fruitful and long relationship.  Dave produced Legend’s first three
independently released albums and has contributed songs and produced tracks on all of his major label, Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum releases since.

As well as writing and producing, Dave lent his instrumental abilities to Kanye West for his Grammy-winning single “Diamonds From Sierra Leone” and Jay-Z on “Do U Wanna Ride” from his comeback album Kingdom Come.

Recently, Dave has co-produced tracks with Justin Timberlake  for Free Sol to be released on Justin’s Tennman records and is currently reunited with his old friend John Legend writing and producing for Legend’s forthcoming album.
